Anthony Sherper
Anthony Sherper is a veteran tree surgeon and arboricultural consultant with more than 25 years of hands-on experience in tree felling, pruning, and site management across the South East. Having started his career climbing trees in rural Surrey, he’s since worked on large commercial contracts, heritage conservation projects, and emergency storm response teams.
James founded the Tree Removal & Felling Blog to share practical, evidence-led insights from the field — demystifying the work that goes into safe, professional tree surgery. His writing combines technical expertise with a deep respect for trees and the ecosystems they support.
He holds multiple NPTC certifications and has trained teams in aerial rescue, sectional dismantling, and risk assessment. Beyond his professional work, James is an advocate for sustainable forestry and responsible urban tree management, often contributing to local community initiatives promoting replanting and habitat protection.
When he’s not on-site or writing, James enjoys walking through ancient woodlands, studying native species, and mentoring young arborists. His mission is simple: to help more people understand trees — not just how to cut them, but how to care for them responsibly.
